I love reading art, craft and design blogs and can happily lose a few hours (or more!) scouring the blogosphere for new and interesting reads.
I’m continually impressed by the amazing creativity that abounds across Australia, from one shore to the other and everywhere in between. There is so much talent for designing, making, crafting, photographing and writing.
I read the blogs to learn and be inspired, and to fill my soul with renewed passion for my own creative pursuits.
My Current Craft and Design Blog Reads
The Design Files
The Design Files is Australia’s most popular design blog. It covers Australian design, architecture, art, craft, interiors, furniture and much more. I’ve been receiving daily emails from The Design Files for a long time and always love reading them. The quality of the photography and writing is first class and I love taking a peek into some of the lovely homes featured from across Australia.
Meet Me At Mikes
Another long standing and hugely popular blog. Meet Me At Mike’s is from the wonderfully talented writer and creative extraordinaire Pip Lincoln. Pip writes about craft, food, pop culture, nature and other life stuff. She is very clever, witty and charming.
We are Scout
We Are Scout is a creative lifestyle blog written by Lisa Tilse. It is a beautiful stylish blog with lovely photography and design. Lisa writes about contemporary design, interiors, art and craft. The premise for the blog is that Lisa scouts the world for the best new trends and inspiration to share with her readers. She also shares craft tutorials so you can join in the making fun too.
My Poppet Makes
My Poppet Makes has a huge collection of craft tutorials including crochet, paper craft, quilting, felting, sewing and photography. Cintia is the creative wonder behind the blog. She makes a point of using second hand and found items in her crafts whenever possible which adds to the uniqueness of everything she turns her hands to. There is a project for everyone here!
If you love stylish interiors you will adore Style Curator. Gina’s blog is filled with inspirational interiors, renovation ideas and DIY projects. It features real homes, including her own, so you can feel inspired to get started on your own projects. Gina is very happy to take reader requests for ideas for future articles.
The Craft Sessions
Felicia writes beautifully about the joy of craft. She started the blog to give crafters, both old and new, a place to come together and enjoy the company of others who value all things handmade. It is a space where crafters can find the connection between making things and their own personal wellbeing.
Adelle writes about all types of craft and provides plenty of wonderful tutorials for young and old crafters alike. The blog is bursting with great ideas and her background as a teacher shines through in her approachable and fun style. If you have kids this is a great blog for finding ideas for projects you can do together.
